Keeping Track of Mum

Posted in Hector's Diary,Scotti Dog Blog,Scottish Terriers by scottishdogs on May 12, 2010

We like sitting with mum even though space (under her desk)  is limited.  I tend to sit on one foot and Bonny sits on the other.  It can be quite competitive at times but we have to sit on her feet so we know if she moves away.  Another safe place to sit is across the front doorway, but then there is always the back door – which is worrying.  Lying in doorways is a useful location to sit, and we sometimes work in unison, splitting up means we can guard both exits for possible signs of human departure.

Did you know life is fraught for a Scottie?

We totally understant. We are always around her feet. You just never know when she’s going to do something interesting and you’ll miss out. But wouldn’t you think after nine scotties she’d remember and not kick us?

We only get a real rest when she isn’t home.

I agree. When humans go out and we are left alone, we actually get some peace, which is bliss. Of course, we never let our human know we actually like time alone, as I may have mentioned before, guilt works!

Thank you so much for your kind comments on our blog. It’s good to be comforted by those that understand the ache in the heart.

      Hi Pam

We are so sorry for you. A dog’s life touches so many aspects of family life and when they have lived for a long time, they are a big part of that life. I am sure Bonnie will do her best to cheer you up.

      Love
